ARREST LOG, DEC. 31: Police subdue man at motel with stun gun
Foxboro Police, responding to a call from the Red Fox Motel on Sunday, Dec. 28, had to use their Taser weapon to stun a suspect before taking him into custody.
James Edward Ryan, 42, of Foxboro, was arrested at 8:22 p.m. and charged with malicious destruction of property worth more than $250, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
Officers John Chamberlin, Patrick Morrison and Lucas Drayton and Sgt. Richard Noonan were at the scene, with officer Chamberlin treated for minor injuries. Paramedics were called, and police reported that the tased suspect would need medical attention after he is taken to the Public Safety Building.
Intoxicated shopper
An allegedly intoxicated Northborough resident with little holiday spirit was taken into protective custody on Christmas Eve after he was reportedly harassing shopper and customers at the Bass Pro Shoppes at Patriot Place.
Officers Chamberlin and Charles Gallagher responded to the Dec. 24 call shortly after 9 a.m. and reported "the subject had an odor of alcohol on his breath." The man was taken into custody and police also transported a 6-year-old boy, who was with him at the time, to the Public Safety Building to be picked up by relatives. The Dept. of Social Services was notified.
Traffic stops
On Tuesday, Dec. 23, a traffic stop at 8:15 p.m. by officer Chamberlin on Route 1 resulted in the arrest of Laurie Ann Crosbym 37, of 25 Alexander Ave. #2, Medford, on chanregs of marked lanes violations and driving with a license revoked for operating under the influence.
Shortly after midnight, Dec. 24, Chamberlin stopped another car on Route 1 and arrested Christian J. Lewis, 20, of 242 Mendon Ave. #1F, Pawtucket, R.I,. for following too closely and driving with a suspended license.
Officer Stephen McGrath was flagged down on Wednesday, Dec. 24, to respond to a report of a car stuck in a snowbank on Chestnut Street near Payson Road. At the scene, he arrested Maureen A. Grady, 64, of 58 North St., on a charge of operating under the influence of alcohol.
A traffic stop on Green Street on Friday, Dec. 26, by officer James Payne resulted in the arrest of Kenneth R. Jermyn, 20, of 3 Treasure Island Road, Plainville, for speeding and possession of marijuana.
Also on Dec. 26, a traffic stop by officer Payne ended with the arrest of Freddy G. Freeman, 21, of 16 Newton St. #1, Mansfield, on a default warrant.
On Saturday, Dec. 27, officer Payne arrested Cheryl D. Empey, 29, of 32 Garfield St., Taunton, on Route 1 at Patriot Place for driving with a suspended license.
Other arrests
Tuesday, Dec. 23, police arrested Scott A. Driscoll, 43, of 29 Taylor St. #2, Winthrop, at America's Best Value Inn on a pair of outstanding warrants.
On Saturday, Dec. 27, Sgt. Michael Grace and officer Payne, responding to a call at Showcase Live, arrested Lauren M. Diminico, 18, of 4 Bailey Terrace, Chelmsford, for trespassing.
Police on Saturday, Dec. 27, took four individuals into protective custody at Patriot Place.
Two females, observed assaulting each other in a parking lot, were taken into custody shortly after midnight. Two males were taken into custody at Showcase Live at 9:31 and 10:02 p.m., respectively, on Saturday.
Another deer hit
Another deer was struck by a motorist last weekend, the third in less than three weeks. The accident was reported on Saturday, Dec. 27, just before 10 p.m. at 463 South St. The driver, from Canton, was not injured.
